Fourth success of the year
Buckyboy defies the odds
04 Oct 20: He may have been 9-1 and the second longest price in the betting, but Buckyboy proved the market wrong as he gained his fourth win of the season on this high profile Sunday. Tackling 2400 metres over a good turf course, Team BB's wonderful warrior ran out quite an easy 1 1/4-length winner from Perfect Illusion, with the rest of the field well strung out behind him. Buckyboy was ridden by Elione Chaves. This was his fourth win from 12 runs this season, and he has been successful both on turf and dirt, winning over 1600, 1750 and 2400 metres. This four-year-old son of Helsinki looks every inch a contender for "Handicapper of the Year" now - though we we still have some way to go before 2020 is in the books.
Perfect start to big weekend
Buckyboy, nice winner on eve of the Derby
22 Aug 20: Buckyboy, nicely handled by Malin Holmberg, got the team off to a perfect start to Derby weekend by landing Norsk Forening For Fullblodsavl Løp, a handicap over 1750 metres on the dirt track. Patiently ridden from off the pace, he produced a determined challenge coming down the home straight and gained the lead some 150 metres from the wining post. He was in full control in the closing stages, and saw the trip out well to beat Crossroad Blues, while Al Buraq got up for third place. This was the son of Helsinki's third win in 2020 and he more than doubled his seasonal earning, to a handsome 106.124 kroner. The way he is performing, Buckyboy could well become a contender for the title as Handicapper of The Year.
Another day - another winner!
Buckyboy rock solid once more
21 May 20: Another raceday at Øvrevoll, and another winner from Cathrine Erichsen's excellent team! This Thursday fixture meant a stiffer task for Team BB's game performer Buckyboy, who won so well over this course two weeks ago - and he was certainly up to it, this time winning quite snugly from Elusive Thought, with the longtime leader Sonriente hanging on for third place in the 1600-metres handicap. Nora Hagelund Holm was in the saddle and she gave the son of Helsinki a perfect ride. He was prominent throughout and picked up well to settle the issue coming down the home stretch. This was Buckyboy's second win from three starts in 2020, and he has already banked 48.340 kroner. Stable companion Two Times, ridden by Alan Wallace, ran third to Mongolian Navy on the same card. This result was also a compliment to Buckyboy, as Mongolian Navy had finished 7 lengths behind Buckyboy last time out. GS
Strong favourite obliges
Buckyboy wins for fun
07 May 20: Buckyboy, making his second start of the season and going off as a very popular favourite, became our first winner at Øvrevoll this season as he romped home by 3 lengths from Kikki Dee over 1600 metres on the dirt track this Thursday evening. Perfectly ridden by Sandro De Paiva, Team BB's four-year-old son of Helsinki gained his third career win with this performance. He won twice over the same course and distance in 2019, and he has also been second or third on three occasions. Cathrine sent out three runners on what was the third raceday of the new season; Sir Leo , who ran third on his seasonal bow a week ago, moved forward to be a game second to the expensive debutant Ugotthelooks in the day's maiden heat, while Two Times - also making his second start in 2020 - was a positive runner-up behind Twisted over 2400 metres.
