Four winners on superb raceday!
14 Oct 20: Today's lunchtime card was dominated by runners representing Cathrine Erichsen's in-form team.
Four winners, including in two of the stakes events of the day, that's what we can call a good day's work.
Two Times captured the Major Chr. F. Michelets Minneloep, beating a persistent Enge Go On after a tremendous duel through the final furlong. Monsieur Vic filled third place in this prestigious stamina test. Hampus G, facing fellow homebreds in Fearlyeloepet, was also victorious, and once more showed what a versatile performer he has become. He stalked the pace throughout and outstayed the competition in the closing stages to get the better of Pirlo, with Smooth Escape hanging on for third place. Two valuable prizes in the bag, in other words, but there was even more to celebrate, as the stable's three-year-old Sir Leo won a handicap by beating the smart older horse We Got the Boss in a tough heat, and the recently imported two-year-old City Code proved by far the best in the concluding race on this fine raceday. Sporting the all red silks of Stall Fifty Shares, City Code went past longtime leader Yellow Submarine close to home and he won the 1370 metres race going away at the finish – suggesting that a step up in distance will be no problem. Like Two Times and Hampus G, he was ridden by Elione Chaves, while Allan Wallace had the mount on Sir Leo.
